Mountain Overlook Elopement With Dogs
J + N met at their high school film class and have been together ever since! When they got engaged they knew they wanted to have an intimate elopement day with their closest friends and the most important couple of fur babies aka their witnesses. Coming from Texas they hoped they would find the perfect location with epic mountain views. When we started the planning process with them we quickly found out that a location with very minimal hiking would be the best option for them. We suggested one of our favorite overlooks in Idaho Springs and it was the perfect mix of epic mountain views, seclusion and accessibility. We spend a lot of time exploring the state and finding not only locations for elopement that require longer hikes but also locations that are great for couples who want a mini adventure without the hike and the all views!
They started the day by getting ready in the wild and getting their dogs all cute and dressed up too! They had a close friend prepare a ceremony for them, however they still self-solemnized and had their dogs sign the marriage license as their witness. (yes your dog can sign your marriage license in Colorado!) After the ceremony we got some cute photos of them all and they headed to a nearby picnic table to have their celebration drinks and snacks before going to dinner later that day. They cut a cake and had some toasts! shortly after that J + N went on a mini exploring session where we got more epic photos of them and they were able to read their vows to each other privately. Eloping doesn’t have to look a certain way for everyone, and it definitely never follows a specific timeline!
