Fall Elopement In Telluride Colorado
When L+M first reached out to us it was clear that they wanted their day to be an adventure, they knew they wanted to hike and include their squishy baby Scout and picking Colorado in the fall made it easy to find just what they wanted. Fast forward to L&Ms elopement day taking us to Telluride, Colorado in the peak of fall. L+M started their day off getting ready in separate sections of their Airbnb. They also got scout into his adventure bandana before heading out separately to a nearby aspen grove where they would share their first look. After first look they decided to change into comfy clothes for their hike to make it easier to move and let the hike be a little more enjoyable.
During the hike we made our way through forested sections with aspens and pines and crossed over several sections of moving water and saw plenty of leaves fall on the leave filled trail. Scout lead most of the way up but we would expect nothing less from the big pup and after a couple of miles of steep switch backs we finally arrived to the beautiful blue lake. L&M changed back into their wedding clothes and found a perfect spot for vows, they then played a quick game of rock paper scissors to see would would go first.
After vows M surprised L with a gift, an album of their engagement secretly captured and kept secret until their elopement day. At this time storm clouds started making their way towards the lake and we snuck in a few portraits before the rain forced us back down the mountain.By the time we made it down the mountain we were all soaked and starving, we stopped for some snacks and more photos then met up with friends at the lake at the start of the trail for a quick ceremony. L+M literally tied the knot then signed their marriage license and they were able to have scout sign with his paw as well. Before the sun set we did a bit of off roading to a near by water fall where we got to explore until the sun went down. To end the day L+M met back up with their family at our camp site where they ate a well deserved pizza and made s’mores shared stories until the fire went out.
