Off-roading elopement in the San Juan Mountains
If you’re wondering what an all-day elopement adventure looks like make sure you stick around and check out Jeanna and Frank’s day! They started by getting ready at the cutest tiny home in Ouray followed by a first look at one of our favorite pull offs right off the Million Dollar Highway. The San Juan mountains have the best locations to elope in the state so we made sure that J & F got to experience it like a local!
They off-road to their ceremony spot where they read their vows privately with literally nobody else around. It did start raining a little bit, but it made for the perfect lighting for their photos. After their vows we had adventured a bit and took some portraits right before we headed over into town for a break and a late lunch. They finished off their day with a small hike to one of our favorite waterfalls and eight s’mores next to the campfire while we waited for the stars to come out!

What J & F thought of their day:
“After dating for six years, being engaged for nearly three, and waiting for the “ideal” time to have a traditional wedding, we finally decided to elope. We originally planned to go to the courthouse and have our immediate family gather for dinner and pictures with a local photographer. We quickly realized that we’d rather spend the money on eloping and turning it into our honeymoon at the same time. After researching locations, we decided on Colorado. At first we were going to fly our photographer out with us, let her build a timeline with locations etc. While we had confidence in the photographer, we were worried that the locations would be very touristy and crowded. So after a little more research, we found Together We Roam’s portfolio. We canceled immediately and reached out to Laura and Hugo. From our first zoom call we knew that they would be the perfect fit for us. They sent a very detailed questionnaire and from there planned out the perfect timeline for our big day.
Fast forward a few months and it was time for our elopement. A few days before our elopement day, Laura called with some not so great news; the weather for our day was going to be thunder and lightning storms all day! Her and Hugo offered a few options and made it work. We changed plans and moved up the elopement day. By doing this, Laura and Hugo had shot an elopement and got right on the road to head to our selected location which was five or so hours away! While everyone was sleep deprived, Laura and Hugo showed up to our Airbnb excited and ready for the day. We were nervous that we were going to be awkward posing for photos and being recorded, but Laura and Hugo made it feel like we were hanging out with old friends all day. They brought us to the most breathtaking and secluded locations; which for us was important because we hate being in crowded places especially being the center of attention. Some locations only a local would know of. Even though we picked the full day elopement package, the day flew by in the blink of an eye!
As promised, we received our sneak peek photos within 24hrs of our elopement day and they were breathtaking. We just received our photo gallery and video teaser this week and it is truly unreal. Laura and Hugo captured our day in so much detail and in a way we will never forget. We cannot wait for the final video and album!
If anyone is on the fence about hiring a local elopement photographer/videographer, we can assure you it’s the smart move. Furthermore, hiring Laura and Hugo is the smartest move! As mentioned, they plan the entire day for you, send vendor recommendations, make you feel like you’re hanging out with friends, and take the most amazing photos/video ever. If we could elope again we would! We 10/10 recommend Together We Roam Photo and Video!
Thank you both for the most amazing day and amazing memories! #Teamnosleep!”
