Wild Flower Season Elopement In Crested Butte

After talking to Emily and Zach on their consult call it was clear what they wanted and did not want on their elopement day. They wanted wild flowers and big mountain views so of course we knew Crested butte would be perfect! What Emily and Zach didn’t want though was to be the center of attention and a day that felt rushed from one thing to the next and when you chose to elope that’s exactly what you get, a day that is more relaxed and that feels much more intimate and intentional. The last thing they needed to include for their day was Olie (the cutest baby) who was going to be their witness.

So on their elopement day we started off with getting ready, Olie and dad got ready together and headed to our first look location while Emily got ready on her own. First look took place in a field of wild flowers next to the lake they would later be sharing their vows at. We kicked off vows with a game of rock paper scissors to see who would start.  Vows were private with nobody around  just as they had imagined with the blue lake and mountains in the background. After vows we went into some family photos and portraits around the lake and wild flowers. Then came the time to sign the marriage license. This was our first time photographing a baby leaving his handprint on the licence as a witness and Olie did amazing. We finished up the day offroading up the mountain pass before the sun set where we got to explore some more valleys, lakes and wild flowers before calling it a day.
